De winnaars van de 65e National Book Awards zijn bekend gemaakt. Marineveteraan Phil Klay won in de categorie fictie. Zijn debuut Redeployment staat vol verhalen over soldaten die worstelen met de gevolgen van de oorlog in Irak.

In de categorie non-fictie won Evan Osnos met Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Truth, and Faith in the New China. Louise Glück won met Faithful and Virtuous Night de prijs voor poëzie en Jacqueline Woodson schreef met Brown Girl Dreaming het beste jeugdboek van 2014.
